DigiCog AD Study

Written by Butler Hospital | May 21, 2024

What is the DigiCog AD Study?

This study will test new digital methods to assess subtle memory and thinking changes that may occur before the start of major clinical symptoms of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Specifically, we will evaluate the feasibility of using app-based brain games to assess cognitive function in short bursts over several days using a smartphone. We will also compare this approach against other digital and paper-and-pencil tests to determine their relative accuracy for distinguishing cognitive functioning in normal aging and early AD.

What is the purpose of the DigiCog AD Study?

This study aims to help establish improved strategies for the early detection and monitoring of cognitive changes in AD. The availability of more accurate, scientifically validated cognitive measures could facilitate treatment research and streamline clinical screening efforts.
