  • Daily private check-ins with a therapist to establish and work on individualized goals for improvement
  • Medication management meetings with a Child and Adolescent board-certified psychiatrist on the first day of the program, the last day of the program and in between as needed (medicine may or may not be part of the team’s recommendation for recovery- this is unique to the individual)
  • Aftercare planning assistance with focus on creating a plan that will support continued improvement and stabilization for the teen after discharge from the program
  • Collaboration with schools and outside providers as needed with guardian permission

The Teen Partial Program at Butler Hospital

What is required of a patient (and family) who is enrolled in the Teen Partial Program?

The program requires patient participation from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for 5 consecutive business days beginning at enrollment. The first day start time is 7:30 am and a legal guardian must be present for the enrollment process. Patients must be able and willing to attend group therapy sessions throughout the day and meet with their doctor and therapist privately.

Recognizing that motivation level can vary greatly from patient to patient, we will work with families to identify how to best motivate a teen to engage and get the most out of the program. We require that a patient follow important safety and group therapy guidelines to ensure that everyone enrolled can benefit from their treatment (guidelines are reviewed in detail with patient and guardian on the first day).

What is unique about the Teen Partial Program?

The Teen Partial Program specializes in the mental health treatment of adolescents ages 13-17 and has specific expertise in: LGBTQ+ affirming treatment (Blue Cross Blue Shield Safe Zone Certified), adjustment-related issues, mood fluctuations, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life-stage concerns that are common in teens today.

We utilize our Resiliency Treatment Concept which is a model unique to the Young Adult and Adolescent programming at Butler. This model informs the way we deliver care across our programs and focuses on helping people understand their role in personal wellness and the importance of holding themselves accountable in their recovery process.

How do I register for the program?

Self-referrals are common and welcome. Referrals from healthcare professionals are optional. Services are covered by most health insurance plans, and we are happy to assist you with reviewing your coverage options.

To start the enrollment process or to get help determining which of our many programs might be best for fit you, contact our Behavioral Health Services Call Center at (844) 401-0111. The phone call takes about five minutes time and will result in an appointment to start the program. We make every effort to keep waiting lists low so that care is delivered in a timely manner.
