Treatment programs and activities take place daily on the unit and include a multi-dimensional approach to wellness by combining individual treatment, group therapies, and medications. Structured programs, activities, and group therapy are designed to help you regain your health. Groups are conducted on topics such as coping skills, medication and illness education, and patient and family education and support groups. Therapeutic activities include sensory modulation, daily exercise, and recreational activities.
Treatment team members are available to talk with you at any time to provide support and personal assistance.
It is not uncommon for people who struggle with psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or post traumatic stress disorder, to also have an active dependency on alcohol or other drugs. We are prepared to meet the needs of patients who may also require help for substance abuse issues.
Friends and family members are invited to visit during scheduled visiting hours for the Adult General Treatment Unit (D3). Friends and family can play an important role in your treatment. However, no contact with your family or others will be made without your signed consent. Limiting visitors to two people at a time is recommended, and you may speak with your doctor if other visiting hours need to be arranged.
Butler Hospital's chaplain is available to meet with a patient and/or family members and can be reached at (401) 455-6483. Clergy from outside of the hospital may visit their parishioners at times other than regular visiting hours.
