Treatment programs and activities take place on the unit daily and are designed to help you regain your health. Therapeutic activities include sensory modulation and coping skills groups, medication education groups, patient/family education and support groups, spirituality groups, and pet therapy.
Medications are also an important part of your treatment. Your doctor will develop and discuss a medication plan with you.
Treatment team members are available to talk with you at any time to provide support and personal assistance.
It is not uncommon for people who struggle with psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or post traumatic stress disorder, to also have an active dependency on alcohol or other drugs. We are prepared to meet the needs of patients who may also require help for substance abuse issues.
Your family’s involvement and others who play a significant role in your life, is encouraged. They can be very important to the success of your treatment and recovery. However, no contact with your family or others will be made without your signed consent.
Butler Hospital's chaplain is available to meet with a patient and/or family members and can be reached at (401) 455-6483. Clergy from outside of the hospital may visit their parishioners at times other than regular visiting hours.
