Research has shown that certain lifestyle choices can contribute to better brain health in people as they age. Just as maintaining physical health requires a healthy diet, exercise and other healthy choices, so too does cognitive health. The Global Alzheimer’s Platform has outlined eight lifestyle factors to focus on – called the “8 Pillars of Brain Health.” Here, Memory and Aging Program Outreach Manager Tara Tang explains what the 8 Pillars are and how to incorporate them into your daily life in order to help maintain your own brain health.
